Theatre Speaks

Trishla Patel
Actor
[English Theatre ]
1. The last best play i saw was "midsummer nights dream". It was not the best as far as performances were concerned. But the raw energy it contained kept the audience well within its grasp.

2. My favourite adda for a play is of course prithvi theatre. It is grounded as the name Prithvi suggests. Here personal space and public interaction can take place side by side.

3. My favourite playwright- Makarand Deshpande. For the abstract earthiness which arises from in between the lines.

4. My favourite play character- This would have to be the character 'Laila'.. which was enacted by me in Makarand’s play LAILA.

5. A play I would like to see filmed- Again this would have to be LAILA. The play is about a playwright whose 3 lailas escape his writing and start living a life of their own. How he resolves their issues and his own mind blocks makes it 2 hours of sheer madness from beginning to end. Would enjoy watching it on 70mm.

6. A peice of writing I would like to see on stage would be a staged version of Anne Franks Diary. It is powerful yet sensitive and anybody can relate to it.

7. My favourite actor on stage would be Naseeruddin Shah. He is untouchable."
