GIANT

By MTG editorial

A stage adaptation of the classic Hollywood film 'Giant' (based on the original novel by Edna Ferber), with its legendary tale of love, loss, tradition, power, and betrayal.

Texas is replaced by Assam in the 1950s where the intriguing characters come to life.

Arjun Singh Thakur (Varun Pande who plays Rock Hudson's character) is the pride of Assam and the heir to the 5,000 acre Thakur tea plantation estate in the newly Independent India. He is steadfast and rooted in his tradition and heritage.

Gayatri Arjun Singh Thakur (Tirrtha Murbadkar who plays Elizabeth Taylor's character) who has been brought up in Calcutta, the hub of literature and politics, is now the new Thakurain of Assam. She's fierce, outspoken, feisty, and beautiful.

Eklavya Rajkhowa (Mikhael Kantroo who plays James Dean's character) is an orphaned worker at the Thakur Estate who is considered manipulative by some and worthless by others, until one day, things turn in his favour.

What do the changing tides of time and fortune have in store for these characters and their families? How do they tackle issues like casteism, chauvinism, women's rights and more?

Watch the saga unfold complete with live musicians and dancers.
