KANUPRIYA (KALA SAMOOH GWALIOR) Story :

The love story of Radha and Krishna (Pranay-Prasang) is a self-evident validation of its unique place within the realm of literature. This is the central argument of 'Kanupriya'. The work asserts that the emergence of 'Kanupriya' is a distinctive literary event, encompassing themes of Initial Love (Poorva-raag), Blossoming Union (Manjari-Parinay), and Cosmic Resolve (Srishti-Sankalp). In this framework, the diverse dimensions of multifaceted love spring from the very current of life, achieving a meaningful oneness with the symbols of nature. Simultaneously, the chapters on History (Itihaas) and Conclusion (Samapan) offer an entirely new perspective and context to Radha's love. This is the very insistence of Kanupriya.

However, her questions and insistence originate from her initial, youthful adolescent state of mind, gradually developing and evolving. The poetic consciousness (Kavya-bodh) of this work attempts to preserve the freshness of those developmental stages exactly as they were. The first phase of this development is depicted by Poorva-raag and Manjari-Parinay; the second phase by Srishti-Sankalp; and the third phase is marked by the sections on Khand-Itihaas (Fragmentary History) and Samapan (Conclusion), which view the historical creation of the statesman, diplomat, and philosopher Krishna (the Krishna of the Mahabharata era) through the eyes of Kanupriya. Today, Radha stands beneath the same Ashoka tree, filling her lap (quarry) with the same blossoms, waiting. She awaits the time when, in the twilight of the Mahabharata war, after the annihilation of his eighteen Akshauhini armies, the desolate, lonely, and anxious Krishna returns to find rest in the shade of a forgotten aanchal (corner of a veil). Then, she will wrap him to her bosom like a child.
