The 13th century text Sangeet Ratnakar states 'Geetam, Vaadyam tatha Nrityam trayam Sangeetamuchyate'. Geet (song), Vadya (instrument) and Nritya (dance) - the three arts are collectively known as Sangeet (music). Music is a confluence of the trinity of vocal, instrumental and dance forms.
Weaving the magic of these three together is Taal Saaz aur Awaz, conceptualised and directed by Aditi Bhagwat and Runa Rizvii Shivamani. Both Runa and Aditi are versatile artists in their respective art form and they bring their talent to this stage presenting the best of their renditions- a mix of ghazals, thumris, sufi kalams, tarana with the intricacies of Taal and Abhinay (expression in dance).
