About The Event We are all searching for something in life. Trying to change something about ourselves, about our lives. But Paulo Coelho says that everything that happens is destined — there is no way to change it. Then what should one do about this space called destiny? This very question troubles the painter in the play, and his search begins. In this search, he revisits the moments and people from his life — from childhood till now. Through these memories, the search for “Avkash” (space) continues. Many people have come and gone in the painter’s life — Mai, Sandip, Qureshi Kaku, Aai, Bapu — each of them bringing a different turn to his journey. Every person has given him something — emotionally, morally, socially, or financially — something that has made the painter’s life richer. The painter realizes that the people with whom he lived his happiest moments — their joy itself is his space, his happiness. And so, he paints the final picture of his life — a painting he names “Avkash. The painter deeply feels that every human being should find their own Avkash. Throughout life, we keep planting pillars, but pillars alone don’t create space — they only make a roof. Instead of chasing material things, we must seek the true source of our own happiness.
