The Ranga Shankara Theatre Festival Is Back!
The most awaited theatre festival of the year is here!
The theme of the Ranga Shankara Theatre Festival 2021 is 'Staying Alive', and it is set to take place over five days, from 27
October to 31 October, 2021. This is going to be a hybrid festival that harnesses the goodness of the physical and the digital
world - take your pick or choose both!
As we go through October, the month that marks the 17 th birthday of Ranga Shankara, we're all set and super excited to
bring a vibrant theatre festival, full of stories and art by the people, for you people.
This will be a space where we celebrate life and human resilience; where we heal our community and dream together again,
through theatre.
Components of the Festival:
5 plays over 5 days being physically performed at Ranga Shankara (probably being streamed live as well.)
A digital showcase of digital presentations, curated by Amitesh Grover. These digital plays, created during the pandemic,
reflect on these crisis- ridden times. The showcase will be followed by talks with the creators after each screening.
Ancillary programmes at the venue which will include short pieces that will use the alternate spaces of the building, and a
walk-through event to present the beautiful architecture, history and heritage of Ranga Shankara.
