About Samarth Black Box Theatre Festival
Samarth Black Box Theatre Festival [ 20th February 2022 to 17th April 2022] With a noble aim of serving a greater purpose
of connecting the audience to the performers in a purposeful and sustained manner. Since a Black Box Theater is usually
black, the darkness of the space allows it to be highly adaptable. This type of theater lends itself particularly well to
productions with limited sets and technical requirements and emphasizes more on intimate, acting-focused experience for a
limited audience. Performers will be able to explore the intimate and lively space.
We’re trying to provide an opportunity for all the theatre practitioners in the time of pandemic where availability of a
performing space is a daunting task as Covid 19 has had a significant impact on the performing arts, mirroring its
repercussions across all arts sectors.
In view of the pandemic, Standard Operating Procedure will be strictly followed.
12 plays have been shortlisted by an eminent jury comprising of Rajesh Kumar, Ashish Ghosh and Ravindra Tripathi to be part
of Samarth Black Box Theater Festival 2022.
