1. Which is the last best play you saw and why?
Shakkar Ke Paanch Daane, by Manav Kaul, because of its lyrical language, which is missing in todays Hindi plays.

2. Your favourite adda to see a play
Prithvi Theatre

3. Your favourite playwright
Ramu Ramnathan

4. Your favourite play-character
Boy from Cyclewallah, by Vijay Tendulkar

5. A play you would like to see filmed. Why?
3-Sakina Manzil,by Ramu Ramnathan, because the script deals with the event which has a huge canvas, and will be appropriately dealt with on screen.

6. A novel/short story you would like to see on stage? Why?
A Fine Balance, by Rohinton Mistry, because it deals with what Bombay was. The issues are still relevant today, but forgotten.

7. The most hilarious play you have seen
All the Best, by Devendra Pem

8. A play, which is over-hyped
Vagina Monologues, by Eve Ensler

10. A passage from an important play that you can recite
I know many.

11. A classical play that you should have read
Merchant of Venice, by Shakespeare

12. A play that changed your perception about the theatre
Sudama Ke Chawal and Bade Bhaisaheb short stories done wonderfully on stage with actors performing the text, no fancy sets; and still it was powerful and engrossing.

13. How do you regard the Mumbai theatre scene?
Too much quantity, very little quality.

14. Have you read any interesting books/articles concerning the theatre? Why did you find them interesting?
I cant think of any right now.

15. If you have ever been a part of a theatre production/s, can you recall an event that was insightful, significant or simply humorous?
Every time I am on (or off) stage, something or the other happens. It can be insightful, significant, or humorous.

16. Can you think of a foreign production that you found remarkable? Why?
I cant remember the name of the production, but it was a play where three characters performed all the plays by Shakespeare in fast-forward manner, in two hours duration. The energy and the ease with which they moved from one play to another, one character to the other, one place to the other, was remarkable. Please let me know if you remember the name!

17. A significant Indian production that you may have witnessed
Andha Yug, directed by Satya Dev Dubey

18. Life in the theatre without the humble batata-wada or the cutting chai or if you please brownies that are snuggling chocolate bits or can you recall the best gastronomic experience youve had in the precincts of the theatre to date?
Sometimes, between rehearsal breaks, a motherly actress will bring food for the actors, and everybody gets a small bit of it.
