3-day International Multidisciplinary Workshop
We are excited to invite you to join us for a special workshop in Berlin in August 2023 that focuses on Physical Action in Performance Making.

Topic: Physical Action in Performance Making
August 11-13, 2023
Berlin, Germany

Who is this program for?
The workshop is open to practising directors of the Physical Theatre, Drama Theatre, Musical Theatre, Choreographers and Circus Directors, working in various genres, techniques, and styles, as well as actors and dancers, interested to acquire reliable director's toolkit to create contemporary professional productions. The in-class session is designed for strong, hardy, disciplined professionals and pre-professionals who are ready to participate from the beginning to the end.

What you will be able to learn:
how to build up images and characters playing with the physical language of movement, relationships with space and partners;

how to connect isolated elements into the whole performance fragments;

how to unfold the actor’s creative nature and freedom in improvisation and spontaneity in the rehearsal process and the training.

This workshop is a simple way that can help you formulate your personal unique approach to work with actors and dancers on performance production, through the intensive practical training based on the Ostrenko Brothers Method of performer's physical training and rehearsal.

Students will be introduced to Meyerhold's "Biomechanics", M.Chekhov's "Psychological Gesture" and Stanislavsky's "Physical Action", with experienced professional practitioners, experts in performing arts pedagogy, directing and practice in multicultural groups and multidisciplinary projects - Ostrenko Brothers.

Ostrenko Brothers Method
The program will also introduce the Ostrenko Brothers' Method, a widely recognized approach to performance that generates innovative productions by utilizing concepts, ideas, and existing play-texts. The method offers the tools and support necessary for performers to reach their full potential.

How is the studying going?
Through a 3-day lab of practical exploration, participants can learn techniques that will help them to add psychological tension, enrich physicality and breathe life into their performances.

Format:
The working language of the program is English. The training is designed as a multidisciplinary intensive lab with participation and practice together with performers from different techniques and countries. Multidisciplinarity and multiculturality are one of the most important principles of our programs. The number of participants is limited. Participation by early booking only.

This is a great opportunity for you to expand your knowledge, improve your skills, and connect with other like-minded individuals in the industry.
If you have any questions, I will be glad to help. Write me: info@nipai.org

Kindest Regards,
Viktor Kaplan
