MTG is sad to learn about the passing of actor Ashiesh Roy. The 55-year-old died of kidney failure.

He was best known for his roles in TV serials and some films, but he had started his acting career in theatre and Delhi. In Mumbai, he did a few plays like WIFE TIME TROUBLE.

His last few months were marked with financial troubles, and has again raised the issue of the industry supporting their own in times of need.

Fellow actor Ashwin Mushran tweeted, "Really sad to hear that #AshieshRoy passed away. Knew him from way back during my college days and our theatre days together in Delhi. Hadn't bumped into him for a long time. Will always remember him as a warm person and ready with a laugh."

Ashoke Pandit wrote, "Sad to know about the demise of my dear friend @ashieshroy ever smiling, ever happy . He was a brilliant actor on stage, tv and films & a great human being. Will miss you my friend."
