The first chapter of In Residence takes us on a journey with Jyoti Dogra, a Mumbai-based theatre artist, as she explores her new work, DARAKHT.
DARAKHT is an exercise in holding and letting go, exploring a body's vulnerability and its tenacity, its exhaustion and its exhilaration, as it moves through grief and miraculously arrives at joy, in a forest that is both real and metaphorical.
Join us at the G5A warehouse from 12–15 November as we present six shows of Darakht. Beyond the performances, the residency also offers a variety of multidisciplinary experiences, allowing audiences to participate in the making of the work through an open rehearsal, gain insight into the artist’s practice through a conversation, and learn firsthand through a workshop.
DARAKHT is additionally supported by the Austrian Science Fund.
In Residence, a production series, creates space for practitioners to explore their craft, form, and expression, allowing them to consistently and rigorously refine their practice. Each production is hosted over an extended duration at the warehouse, enabling work that is multidisciplinary and grounded in traditional and contemporary performance methods.
