A play for children and "grown-ups", ONCE UPON...A TIGER! has been written in simple Indian English. The play utilises a fun-filled format, with lots of music, dance and humour, to inform the audience about many important issues like conservation, the environment, ecology, forests, rivers, etc, keeping the tiger in focus, both, as a symbol, and as an endangered species.
Through the play, the theatre group wishes to spark an interest and concern among young people regarding our wildlife and forests and the larger implications of thoughtless destruction - that human existence on this planet is inextricably linked to the survival of the tiger. The play has received the stamp of approval of Mr. Bittu Sahgal and his organization 'Sanctuary', which have been working for decades to save the tiger and the environment. The play is also a part of the Prithvi Theatres' Season for Plays for Children in 2006.
