Masque was founded in 1987 by Vikram Kapadia who has been actively involved in Mumbai's English theatre scene for the past twenty years. Some of Kapadia's plays till date have been inspired adaptations of plays by well-acclaimed Indian playwrights such as Girish Karnad, Shafat Khan and Makrand Deshpande.
He has also written his own plays, two monologues from GOING SOLO- II, being his first effort. The success of this play encouraged Kapadia to write his first two-act play, BLACK WITH EQUAL, which premiered at the Prithvi Festival of 2002.
