The play is based on an incident during the war between India and Pakistan in 1971. Pakistan dropped 8 bombs on the air strip in Madhapur. To win the war it became paramount for India to make the air strip functional once again. Madhapar is a village with only 5 % of the male population. The women of Madhapar accepted the challenge and made the air strip out of cow dung and mud, and made India win the battle.
