AAPAS KI BAAT (PREETA MATHUR THAKUR) Story :

Renowned Russian writer Anton Chekhov's works bear the hallmark of his deeply perceptive understanding of life. Four of his satirical short stories about exploitation were adapted by multi-hyphenate theatre personality Dinesh Thakur into his Hindi Comedy play APAS KI BAAT. The stories shed light on the many kinds of exploitation that occur in a divided society, especially when the line between the exploiter and the exploited begins to fade. The characters - mistress who talks down to her maid; a man who woos the object of his desire through her own husband; a guy on the beach, attempting to sell his unique brand of entertainment at great risk to his life; a woman who enters a bank to extort money - pose the question: are we all being exploited while we are busy exploiting someone else? Even as we ponder on the underlying meanings we cannot help laughing out loud at the comedy and satire of the presentation
