BAKASURA is a solo play centered around the mythological demon with the same name.

BAKASURA is one of the most feared and infamous demons in Hindu mythology, particularly known for his role in the epic Mahābhārata. He symbolizes terror, gluttony, cannibalism, and unmatched power. He was a monstrous figure with an unquenchable hunger and enormous strength. Legend describes him as a giant cannibal who would not only eat livestock and food but also human beings, feeding on the flesh of the people he terrorized. His terrorizing reign would end as he encounters Bhima as his next victim. Despite not being as huge and vicious as BAKASURA, Bhima defeats him with the incredible strength and perseverance that he possesses.

This play is essentially the origin story of BAKASURA, reflecting on topics such as -his life as a regular tribal man named Vaksha, how he turned into a ruthless cannibal, the hardships, the adversities, and the sheer discrimination by society. The play is presented in a contemporary format with themes of folklore indulged in it.
