HARDIT KAUR GILL Story :

'Hardit Kaur Gill' is an Indian adaptation of Henrik Ibsen's most popular masterpiece 'Hedda Gabler'. Though it can be termed a 'feminist' play since the central character is a woman, yet Hedda is not the conventional female character even for Ibsen. The play offers the opportunity to glimpse the real, the frightening yet often comic mechanics of emotional violence at very close range. In my adaptation 'Hardit Kaur Gill' is a timeless figure searching for the happiness that will always elude her. As a result, this story becomes a universal tragedy about all human beings, regardless of gender, who find themselves at a dead-end, a wall created by their own imbalance and design.
