Lal Quile Ka Aakhri Muqadma is being staged as part of Natya Kumbh. A travelling festival that celebrates drama and the dramatist by staging the works of the playwright, Mrinal Mathur, performed by some of the prominent directors and theatre groups of India. A total of eight plays will be on view between the 4th ,10th and 11th of June, at LTG Auditorium, Delhi.

Lal Quile Ka Aakhri Muqadma is an imagination of the conversations between the trio of Gen. Shahnawaz Khan, Col. Prem Kumar Sehgal and Col. Gurbakhsh Singh, who faced the INA trials in 1945. The last such public trial to be conducted at the Red Fort.

The rendition is centred around Mr. Bhulabhai J. Shah’s seminal speech in their defence.

It is directed by Dr. M. Sayeed Alam. Writer, Director and Actor. Active since 1996, he has written, directed, and acted in more than 2000 shows of nearly 50 stage plays – mostly original, to critical acclaim and appreciative audiences. Renowned for his penchant for history and humour, he heads one of India’s leading theater groups Pierrot’s Troupe. He has travelled widely with many plays across the world, including the UK, USA, Canada, Kuwait, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Oman and Pakistan
