MAAIKA Story :

It is the night of the wedding.
The baraat is on its way.
The bride sits alone in her room, awaiting a transformation she has been preparing for, her entire life.

As she looks in the mirror, she runs a hand on her bruised face, and early wedding gift from her to-be husband. A gift she never asked for. A gift that signals the future she is stepping into.

It is the night of the wedding.The bride sits aloneAnd the bride is visited by the five. Five spirits.Five souls.Five women....women who took the path she is set to take...only to meet their end.

Thus begins the tale of one night that poses questions to the characters and the audience alike. Thus begins the story of Maika.

Adapted by the Creator of Kanupriya Theatre Company, Kanupriya, her daughter.

Directed by Guncha Kanupriya, her daughter.Three generations come together to create a heart wrenching saga of the unspoken realities and hypocrisies of our society, in Kanupriya Theatre Company's Maika.
