This play revolves around the life history of a middle-class clerk by the name of Dhondopant Bhikaji Kadmadekar Joshi. He and his family represent the generation of the 1960�s.
Dhondopant Joshi who has been working for a company known as Benson Johnson eventually finds himself serving a new boss since the company is taken over by a man called Mangaldas Sheth.
This event creates a lot of upheaval in Dhondopant�s life. All his old certainties are replaced by a new pattern of life, which seems culturally far removed from the life he is used to leading.
While his wife and children embrace the new with reckless abandon, Dhondopant tries to find solace in his new environment by reconciling the old with the new. This however does not prove to be an easy task...
