MAHARASHTRA MAJHA MUMBAI KUNACHI

MAHARASHTRA MAJHA MUMBAI KUNACHI

Writer : Sandip Jangam
Director : Sandip Jangam
Cast : Ganesh Jadhav & Sandip Jangam

This production is a tribute to the resilient spirit of the Marathi people who built Mumbai from the ground up. It traces the journey of the original sons of the soil-the Koli-Agri communities-back to 1661, when the city was a small settlement of just 10,000 souls.

The heart of the story lies in the sweat and toil of those who migrated from Maharashtra's villages to fuel the industrial revolution of 1854. It was on their shoulders that hundreds of textile mills rose, transforming Mumbai into a global metropolis. Despite welcoming everyone with open arms, the Marathi man eventually faced a struggle to protect his identity and the city's inclusion within Maharashtra against political and capitalist agendas.

Today, we ask: What is the place of the Marathi soul in modern Mumbai? This program is not just a history lesson; it is a movement to inspire and guide every Marathi person to reclaim their glory and success.

It is no longer enough to just fight; it is time to build, to evolve, and to lead.
