Watch Vedika Kumarswami’s renowned ‘Gaavnavri’ unfold in a beautiful musical, as a young girl destined to be a devadasi escapes her fate and forges her own destiny.
‘TUJHI AUKAT KAYE?’ tells the compelling story of Vedika, a girl born into a lineage of devadasis, who fights against her predetermined fate as an 11-year-old bride. She dares to challenge the divine and embarks on a journey of survival and self-discovery. In her quest to make sense of her existence, she delves deep into the sacred tales of goddesses and finds empowerment in the process.
Crafted by the visionary directors Pratiksha Khasnis and Nikita Thube, the play is performed by a stellar ensemble featuring Pratiksha and Nikita alongside Kalpesh Samel, Deep Dabare, and Swapnil Bhave. This powerful theatrical production transcends words and features eight evocative songs that vividly bring the story to life — a Nandi by B.V. Karanth, three Kannada Joggapa songs, and original compositions in Hindi and Marathi.
