 SAGPANN TANE SAALMUBARAK Review

It was a heartwarming sight to see the foyer of Tejpal teeming with theatre enthusiasts. Audiences have returned to auditoriums to watch their favourite plays bringing cheer to every theatre lover.

SAGPAN TANE SAAL MUBARAK was performing its second show after the pandemic, directed by Kiran Bhatt, written by Pravin Solanki, produced by Jash Joshi Productions.

The plot revolves around Pratham (Jash Joshi), who is a professional cricketer and how his life turns topsy turvy after he has a kidney failure. The son of a retired judge Meghna (Sangita Joshi) and a businessman Avinash (Hemant Jha), Pratham is devastated with the news and the story takes yet another turn when he gets to know that his parents are reluctant to donate their kidneys to him. To add to this he is informed that these are not his biological parents. With quite a many twists in the tale it leaves the audience glued to the play.

Ably guided by veteran director Bhatt the plays offers some interesting moments like the short court room scene where the spot light falls on the two actors on stage. The play is mixed bag of all the right masala that audiences enjoy like tragedy, suspense, romance and comedy. And like most social dramas this one too has a villain who plays an integral part in the play.

Mahendra (Rajul Diwan) knows all that is going on in his sister's (Meghna) house and takes full advantage of this by blackmailing her.

This emotional drama has fine performances by Hemant Jha who does justice to both the serious and comic element of the play. Sangita Joshi as the retired judge holds her own but it is Rajul Diwan who steals the show. Jash Joshi makes his debut with this one and it will be interesting to see how he grows as an actor.
