About QADIR ALI BAIG THEATRE FESTIVAL
One of India's most significant theatre assemblies and Telangana's flagship theatre festival is scheduled from October 21st to
24th 2021 in Hyderabad
One of India's most significant theatre events, the 'Qadir Ali Baig Theatre Festival', now in its 16th edition, was the only
theatre event of its scale that was conducted live last year despite the pandemic. Like every year, this year too, a host of
eminent names like Ila Arun, K.K. Raina, Denzil Smith, Heeba Shah and others will play in this internationally-reputed
Festival. Curated by Padmashri Mohammad Ali Baig, the Festival presents the pick of Indian theatre actors and world-
renowned playwrights. It is an annual tribute to Hindustani theatre legend late Qadir Ali Baig, held in association with the
Government of Telangana every year. Another important aspect being that various historically significant locations form the
venue for its launch, like Falaknuma Palace, Taramati Baradari, Raj Bhavan in the past and the restored Moazzam jahi Market
again this year.
Like last year, the Festival this year too shall be conducted in accordance with pandemic safety protocols. Government of
Telangana's Department of Tourism, Department of I&PR, Singareni Collieries are associated in presenting this flagship
theatre festival.
