It would be ANTO ADI ANTO by Rudraprasad Sengupta of Nandikar in Kolkata. It was an outstanding play with flawless performances. For me it fulfilled the definition of a 'complete' play.

I would be a little biased and say RAVANLEELA. I strongly believe it has the power and potential to be made into a good film.

A novel/short story you would like to see on stage? Why?

My first play as a writer and director was inspired from a short story. The play was titled RAJNEETI.

Pankaj Kapur's character in the famous play EK RUKA HUA FAISLA.

A play that changed your perception about the theatre

EK RUKA HUA FAISLA by Ranjit Kapoor. I saw it in Delhi long ago and I still remember I was so inspired and awestruck by it that I watched four shows back to back.

How do you regard the Mumbai theatre scene?

I think theatre is a much respected art form in Mumbai. Regional theatre in Maharashtra is very popular which has also led people to watch Hindi and English Theatre. Though the growth of Hindi and English theatre is slow but it is still surviving with the efforts of the theatre fraternity.

Have you read any interesting books/articles concerning the theatre? Why did you find them interesting?

Many. I loved Sir Laurence Olivier's book titled 'On Acting'.

If you have ever been a part of a theatre production/s, can you recall an event that was insightful, significant or simply humorous?

When I was operating music for Feroz Abbas Khan's play ROYAL HUNT OF THE SUN, I got a chance to assist the world famous light designer Tapas Sen. It was one of the most memorable experiences of my life.
