PLAY DIRECTION COURSE
by Prof. Waman Kendre

An eminent theatre director and drama teacher, former Director of NSD and Padma Shri awardee, Prof. Waman Kendre presents a one-month duration - Play Direction Course.

The course is scheduled from 19th May to 18th June 2026 (Tuesday to Friday, 6:30 PM to 9:30 PM) at Rajashri Shahu Sabhagruha, 3rd Floor, Shivaji Natya Mandir, Dadar West, Mumbai.
This course is organised by Rangapeeth Theatre Mumbai and Shri Chhatrapati Shivaji Smarak Trust.

About Prof. Waman Kendre:
Apart from regular teaching for Master's Degree and higher courses, Prof. Waman Kendre has conducted more than 425 workshops and courses in India and abroad, including in countries such as America, Germany, France, China, Japan, Singapore, and Mauritius. He has trained hundreds of actors and directors, many of whom are now leading names on stage, in cinema, television, web series, and advertisements across Hindi, Marathi, English, and other regional languages.

He is the recipient of several prestigious honours, including:
Padma Shri (Government of India)
Sangeet Natak Akademi Award (Government of India, New Delhi)
Rashtriya Kalidas Samman (Madhya Pradesh Government)
B. V. Karanth Smriti Puraskar
Manohar Singh Smriti Puraskar (both by National School of Drama, Delhi)

He has also received the Maharashtra State Award (five times), along with Padmashree Daya Pawar Smriti Puraskar, Sahayog Foundation Samman, Maharashtra Times Gaurav Samman, Natyadarpan Puraskar, Marathwada Gaurav Puraskar, and several other accolades.
