The NCPA Cheer Festival, which has just begun, is showcasing a variety of comedy ranging from plays to stand-up acts and a relatively new genre called Improv Comedy. In our Theatre Gupshup this week, Naveen Kaushik, who heads Improv Comedy Mumbai (ICM) gives us a background to this genre of comedy. He and his team are staging their show ICM POPCORN at the festival. Dhruv Lohumi, also from the team, shares his Theatre Speak.

Vikash Khurana's Nagpur-based group Stagecraft will stage its adaptation of Marcel Archard's play L'IDIOTE. The adaptation titled A SHOT IN THE DARK will also be performed as part of the NCPA Cheer festival this weekend.

Ramu Ramanathan will alphabetically decode Mumbai's theatre: A to Z of theatre in Mumbai at Junoon's upcoming Mumbai Local session. The session is housefull but you can watch it being streamed live at 5 pm on 4th June on Junoon's Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/junoontheatre/ The video shall also be available later.

Aadyam will stage the premiere of 12 ANGRY JURORS, directed by Nadir Khan for theatre company Rage at St. Andrews.

Ideas Unlimited's play on Gandhi called MOHAN NO MASALO, directed by Manoj Shah will now be staged in three languages- Hindi, Gujarati and English in three different shows on the same day at Prithvi theatre. Its solo actor Pratik Gandhi shares his Theatre Speak.

Entries for our online, one-act play competition ENatya Shodh have been extended to 7th June.
