MTG editorial

Rituraj Singh, the well-known television and film actor, passed away due to a heart attack at the age of 59. He made a name for himself for his work on screen, but he had started his acting career with theatre in Delhi. He worked with Barry John's Theatre Action Group for 12 years, before moving in Mumbai, reportedly on the suggestion of Shah Rukh Khan, who had also worked on stage in Delhi.

In Mumbai, Singh's theatre appearances were few and sporadic, having done plays like CLASS OF 84 and A MUGGY NIGHT IN MUMBAI.

He is survived by his wife Charu Singh and two children. MTG conveys sincere condolences to his family and loved ones.

His colleagues like Manoj Bajpayee, Lillete Dubey, Denzil Smith, Hansal Mehta and others paid heartfelt tributes to him on social media:

Rituraj!!!! Can’t believe this!

I directed him briefly in a daily soap called K Street Pali Hill but in the process we became good friends. Been a while since we hung out but I have such fond memories. Untapped actor and a warm human. Gone suddenly and too early. pic.twitter.com/53A2SJ4At4
