A fusion of sounds, rhythms and images of the vibrant underbelly, the show is a vivacious collage of poems and stories about Mumbai Mahanagar written by Gulzar Saab from his experiences in the last Fifty years in this city.

A third in the series of Gulzar Saab's writings on stage after KHARAASHEIN and LAKEEREIN, ATTHANNIYAAN...is woven together by Salim Arif on the theme of Mumbai and the life of people living on the edge in this magical metropolis. The show is the outcome of a month long workshop.

BAAS is about a slum dweller who is forced to feel caged in a one room tenement, revealing a rare, humane insight to the notion of redevelopment and rehabilitation. Pithy and scathing, it is a very telling satire on the lives of people who provide the city with an affordable domestic help network.

JHHADI is about another slum dweller who is caught in a competition with rains in monsoon, keeping pace with the incessant rain is his bout of drinking, leading to a catastotraphic finale.

ATTHANNI is the story of a classic underdog making his life worthwhile in the metro. A common man caught in an uncommon situation, the story makes a scathing comment on the relationship of crime and politics, leading to a choice of no consequence for this protagonist, who in effect is now a hostage in this city of dreams.
