The workshop aims to help participants:
01 / Develop presence and responsiveness - Remain attentive to changing circumstances and respond to what fellow performers and audience participants actually do.
02 / Deepen character work - Investigate objectives, motivations, relationships and constraints that support believable choices beyond the rehearsed script.
03 / Expand physical expression - Explore how the body communicates status, power, vulnerability and resistance through gesture, movement, space and stillness.
04 / Strengthen improvisational discipline - Sustain character and dramatic stakes while adapting to unexpected interventions.
05 / Create complex conflicts - Explore the social forces and everyday behaviour that shape a situation, avoiding stereotypical characters and easy resolutions.
06 / Build ensemble awareness - Develop shared attention, trust and coordination so that performers can support one another through unpredictable changes.
07 / Practice devising - Shape lived experiences and observations into scenes that invite meaningful audience participation.
HOW THE PUBLIC PERFORMANCE WILL DEEPEN ACTOR PREPARATION
The workshop will culminate in a participatory performance for the public, bringing the participants preparation into an encounter with unrehearsed audience interventions.
This is where actors can test how thoroughly they know their characters. Can they respond when familiar cues disappear? Can they sustain an intention while changing their tactics? Can they offer
believable resistance without automatically defeating an intervention-or making change unrealistically easy?
The performance will provide opportunities to practice:
Working with unfamiliar partners and unexpected impulses.
Maintaining concentration, character continuity, and ensemble connection.
Discovering new actions within an established dramatic situation.
Recognizing how an audiences experiences can reveal overlooked dimensions of a scene.
Reflecting on performance choices through discussion and further exploration.
Participants will leave with practical experience of devising, rehearsing, and performing scenes that remain open to intervention. This can enrich their approach to character preparation, improvisation, and collaborative performance while introducing them to a participatory form they can continue to explore in their own practice.
Theatre Workshop Fees :
8000/-
