This WORKSHOP concentrates on building a foundation in the craft of acting, using training techniques rooted in the theatre but applicable to screen acting. Students will participate in a broad array of core and advanced classes that help them to find the actor within themselves, while simultaneously training their instrument to do the kind of technical, emotional, and physical work necessary for ACTING IN FRONT OF CAMERA.
BASIC ACTING TECHNIQUES DEVELOPED BY MASTERS LIKE STELLA ADLER AND MICHAEL CHEKHOV, WHO LEFT SEMINAL IMPACT ON THE TECHNIQUE OF ACTING [ WITH PRACTICALS AND DEMONSTRATIONS]
STUDY OF THE SELF AND ITS APPLICATION TO ACTING - Through improvisation; silent and word-oriented, students learn to see, hear, believe, react, observe and concentrate.
MOVEMENT AND VOICE & SPEECH
Students learn how to know their bodies, inner voices and imaginations.
They learn how the body speaks to them and concentrate on its rhythm, enter space and loosen their limbs.
Exercises focusing on breathing, humming, pitch, volume, Elasticity and Rhythm.
UNDERSTANDING THE CHARACTER AND HOW TO APPROACH THE SCRIPT � FOR STAGE, TV AND FILM, AUDITIONS
This will include theory and performances by students � individual, in two�s and ensemble.
ENTIRE MICHAEL CHEKHOV TECHNIQUE INCLUDING CENTRE OF IMPULS, PSYCHOLOGICAL GESTURE, IMAGINARY BODY, RADIATING, EXPANSION AND CONTRACTION AND ATMOSPHERE IS TAUGHT WITH CUSTOMIZED EXERCISES AND DEMONSTRATION.

ABOUT RAVI SHARMA
Graduate in English Literature from Punjab University Chandigarh
Diploma in theatre from Punjab University, Chandigarh.
Post Graduation (Direction) from National School of Drama New Delhi,
Extension Course in Direction at Film &TV Institute of India, Pune
Trained in Stella Adler Technique of Acting from Stella Adler Studio of Acting NY.
Master Teacher for Michael Chekhov Technique of Acting.
A Grade Drama Voice with All India Radio
Resource Person for South East Asian Countries Theatre Ensemble.
He is a well known Director, a leading Theatre Teacher and an outstanding Theatre Practitioner; Exponent of Street Theatre in North India; he taught and trained a generation of talent all over the country and abroad for over thirty five years. He directed over sixty plays in almost all major Indian Languages and acted in over fifty plays doing major characters. Awarded Best Director�s Award by the Department of Culture, Maharashtra and Active Senior Theatre Practitioner Award.
