Swatantra Theatre's Children Theatre Program
Swatantra Theatre offers Children Theatre Program's twice a year- one in winter and the other in Summer Holidays.
This season's Children Theatre Program will begin from 25th April and will go on till the 7th June.
This is an exclusive Children Theatre/Acting Program where children from ages 6-15 dive into the world of Theatre and Acting. Our syllabus is designed in such a way that Children are introduced to the techniques of Acting and explore the wide horizon of Theatre.
The syllabus is comprised of Basic level to advanced level of Acting for stage as well as for camera.
1)Voice Culture
Introduction to different voice exercises and techniques for better audibility, clarity and depth in speech
2)Body Language
Body awareness, emotions through body, character building with movement, mine and non verbal communication, group movement and coordination.
3)Acting Skills
Understanding techniques of Acting like Natyashastra, Method Acting through Theatrical games. Work on imagination and creativity. Learning to identify key emotions and express them. Stage presence, character building and confidence building.
4)Writing and Reading Skills
Script Reading and understanding, vocabulary building, creative writing, Story telling blending with sketching, music or poetic narration.
5)Scene Work
Understanding a scene, What is a scene? Beginning-middle-end structure, Identifying the characters, setting, and problem/conflic
Understanding the emotion and objective of the scene based on Indian writer and poets.
Children also perform in a professional Children Theatre Festival where children get the opportunity to apply their learnings and experience the Performing aspect of the art.
Being a part of Theatre can help children groom in various ways right from
1)Comfort in speaking and performing in front of others.
2) Improved self-esteem from appreciation, and public presentation, Overcoming stage fear and hesitation
3) Improved Communication Skills,Clearer speech and better diction
4)Enhanced vocabulary and expression
5) Better listening skills (especially during scene work and group activities)
6) Emotional Intelligence Ability to identify and express a range of emotions, Empathy through role-play and stepping into different characters' shoes,Self-regulation and control over emotional reactions
7) Enhanced Imagination and Creativity Thinking beyond textbooks and routine,Creating characters, stories, and situations on their own

9)Learning to collaborate, share ideas, and respect other's perspectives

14)Managing time and responsibilities (like learning lines, costume, props) and thus multi tasking.
