After 75 shows in India, Antwerp, Malaysia, Amsterdam and at the Biennale Bonn in Germany, Rage Productions will now be staging its PUNE HIGHWAY in the UK. Writer-Director, Rahul Da Cunha says that PUNE HIGHWAY has proved to be its most travelled production to date.
He attributes the play's success to not only its thriller format but also to the manner in which audiences abroad feel that they are locking into characters from contemporary India. For the Biennale Bonn, the local German audience inspite of having headphones, which assisted them with the German translation, preferred to just hear the play as it was happening.
The play will now be staged in the UK from Tuesday, 9th to the 14th November 2010 at Watermans, 40 High Street, Brentford, TW8 0DS. The cast includes Rajit Kapur, Bugs Bhargava Krishna, Shankar Sachdev, Ashwin Mushran and Yamini Namjoshi. Pune Highway was developed at the Writers Bloc Festival in collaboration with the Royal Court Theatre, London. The play will also be staged in Washington DC and in New York next year.
