Shifting gears from exploring women's issues, singer-actor-writer Ila Arun's theatre group, Surnai, presents AJAATSHATRU - an environmental Hindi drama. This play is her fifth adaptation of a work by renowned Norwegian playwright Henrik Ibsen, specifically his 'AN ENEMY OF THE PEOPLE'. AJAATSHATRU was premiered on January 26, at the NCPA.

Jointly directed by Ila Arun and K K Raina, AJAATSHATRU focuses on the burning problem of environmental disasters confronting us today. The play highlights the dangers of lack of social responsibility and reckless business interests that force some business and political class to camouflage the problem only for their political, business and vote bank politics. The play explores and addresses all the questions relating to this huge problem through a conflict between two brothers.

AJAATSHATRU will be staged on:
Day and Date: Saturday, May 4, 2024
Time: 07:00 PM
Venue: NCPA, Experimental Theatre
