The late Dr. Shankar Shesh was an eminent Hindi theatre playwright with over 20 original plays to his credit. Some of Dr. Shesh’s famous plays include EK AURDRONACHARYA, POSTER, RAKTABEEJ, KOMAL GANDHAR, among others.
In 2015, Sanjay Shesh, Dr. Shankar Shesh’s son found the Shankar SheshFoundation Trust (SSFT) in his father’s memory. Sanjay Shesh has since devoted his energies to the foundation to not only keep his father’s work alive but to also encourage original playwriting in Hindi.
Every month there are play readings at the Shesh residence in Chembur, Mumbai. The idea is to find good plays in Hindi and to encourage new and young writers.
