READINGS IN THE SHED - LETTERS OF LOVE by Nikhil Katara and Himali Kothari were selected for the BorderLight Theatre Festival, the only company based out of India selected for this international theatre festival, in virtual mode this year due to the pandemic.

The show, according to its synopsis, "presents a theatrical reading of original love letters (some scandalous, some passionate) from some of the world's best known creative geniuses, including letters between writers Zelda and Scott Fitzgerald, the yearnings of photographer Andre de Dienes as expressed to actress Marilyn Monroe, letters from painter Frida Kahlo to her lovers, as well as private letters by Oscar Wilde, Kurt Vonnegut, political dissident-turned-statesman Vaclav Havel, and school teacher Hildreth Heiney, among others."

BorderLight was founded in 2015 by Dale Heinen and Jeffrey Pence, with a mission to " present visionary international theatre and build cross-cultural understanding. According to their website, "The BorderLight International Theatre + Fringe Festival is a hybrid festival model, featuring a curated selection of international touring productions, commissioned collaborations between Cleveland professional theatres and international artists, and a fringe festival programmed through an open call for submissions, featuring all genres of theatrical performance self-produced by local and national artists. The BorderLight Festival debuted in 2019 as a biennial summer event."

In our inaugural year, BorderLight hosted 40 unique productions and special events from artists from 8 countries + across the US, selling over 4.5K tickets and attracting a total of 10K visitors to downtown Cleveland for free public performances and other special events.

READINGS IN THE SHED will be streamed on demand from July 22 - 31.
