The Gujarati theatre industry has lost two notable personalities: producer Hemant Pithadia on December 7, 2023, and playwright Nilesh Rupapara, on December 10, 2023.

Producer Vipul Vithlani, who is known for his comic timings, pens a note for his friend Nilesh Rupapara from his social media handle saying,

When team Mumbai Theatre Guide contacted with Vipul Vithlani about his friendship with Nilesh Rupapara, he says, "I have been known him for the last 23-24 years. Just a few days back we sat for 1.5 hours post LAL NO RAJA CHOKAT NI RANI play happened last Thursday. Infact, when the Mahurat happened for LAL NO RAJA, 80 percent of the script was completed and he also informed us that he will take time due to some health issues. But he made sure that the premiere happens on time and it happened."

Team MTG also spoke with actor and director Kamlesh Oza about Hemant Pithadia's death, saying, "Sad, Very Sad about his passing." He was not simply a producer, but he also enjoyed inventing new genres in Gujarati theatre. God has other plans for him at this age."

Nilesh Rupapara has written plays like PREM NO PRIMETIME, JALSA KARO JAYANTILAL, TU CHHE LAJAWAB, CHHANU NE CHHAPNU KAIN THAAY NAHI, NATU I LOVE YOU, NRI AMTHALAL while Hemant Pithadia has produced plays like BADE ACHHE LAGTE HAI, BAAR BAAR DEKHO, TAME AAVSHO TOH GAMSE, AAJE RAVIVAAR CHHE among others.

MTG extends heartfelt condolences to the Rupapara and Pithadia families and loved ones.
