Alok Chatterjee, RIP

The theatre community is mourning the untimely passing of doyen Alok Chatterjee on January 6, at age 64, due to multiple organ failure.

Actor, director and popular teacher, Chatterjee was a gold medalist from the National School of Drama, and recipient of the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award for the year 2019. He started his theatrical journey with Vivechana Theatre Group in Jabalpur and was also associated with Bharat Bhavan's professional repertory Rangmandal in Bhopal. He was involved with theatre in his hometown, Bhopal, where he passed away.

He was known for his productions like A Midsummer Night's Dream, Death of a Salesman, Nat Samrat and Anandmath.

MTG conveys heartfelt condolences to his family and loved ones.
