The Remembering Veenapani Festival 2025 is a grand celebration of theatre, art, and creative expression, marking 44 years of Adishakti's artistic journey. This seven-day festival will be held from April 13 to April 19, 2025, at Adishakti’s stunning campus near Pondicherry.

Launched in 2015, this annual festival pays tribute to Veenapani Chawla, the visionary founder of Adishakti Laboratory for Theatre Arts Research, remains a towering figure in contemporary Indian theatre. A self-taught artiste, she revolutionized performance methodology, blending tradition with modernity. Her journey began in Mumbai, where she directed plays before establishing Adishakti in 1981. Seeking deeper artistic exploration, she moved to Pondicherry, shaping Adishakti into a renowned theatre research hub. A relentless innovator, she shared her knowledge globally through workshops and performances. Though she passed away on November 30, 2014, her legacy continues to inspire theatre practitioners worldwide. Veenapani Chawla lives on through her work and vision. The festival is Adishakti's way of honoring her legacy by bringing together theatre lovers, artists, and performers from across the country.

The festival promises nine exceptional events, featuring a diverse lineup of performances, workshops, and artistic showcases. From groundbreaking theatre productions to thought-provoking discussions, each event is curated to celebrate Veenapani's innovative approach to theatre.

The grand inauguration takes place on April 13 at 7 pm, with an open and free entry for all attendees. This is a perfect opportunity for theatre lovers to immerse themselves in a world of creativity, connect with like-minded individuals, and experience the magic of Adishakti's unique performance methodology.
