'Black With Equal' celebrates half century

Deep Hembrol

When director Vikram Kapadia opened Black with equal, first ever full length play written by him little did he know that it would turn out to be a very successful black comedy in the country. Vikram has had seventeen years of theatre experience behind him including plays like Rupert's Birthday, Julius Casear, Romeo and Juliet to name some. Kapadia is currently busy with his first film that will deal the myth of Saraswati River. This week his play Black with equal celebrates its fifty-first performance at Tata. The thought provoking play depicts how a friendly annual general meeting of the residents of Jagruti Co. society turns out to be a hostile rendezvous. The minor disagreements amongst the members lead to power struggle and mutual distrust. The play takes you through a spectacle of a contemporary society ultimately making a sarcastic comment on the degeneration of moral standards. Vikram Kapadia, Lovleen Mishra, Paresh Ganatra, Meena Patel complete the cast. Hurry up and book your seats to this relevant play to current times.
