Final Results of IPTA Mumbai�s Inter-Collegiate Drama Competition (ICDC) 2007��

IPTA Mumbai and The Mysore Association, Bombay jointly hosted the 36th Inter Collegiate Drama Competition for Hindi / Urdu / Hindustani one act plays. Since 1972 this competition has provided a platform for college students to showcase their talent on stage and is considered one of the most reputed and prestigious competitions in Hindi /Hindustani /Urdu theatre.

Six colleges were selected for the Finals, which were held at the Tejpal Auditorium, Gowalia Tank on Saturday 22nd Sept 2007, from 2 pm onwards. The Finals were attended by students and the general public. As always IPTA members were present at the event to encourage the students and to watch the wonderful performances by all the colleges. These included Shri AK Hangal, Smt. Shaukat Kaifi, Mrs. Manmohan Krishna, Shri MS Sathyu, Shri Kuldip Singh, Smt. Sulabha Arya, Shri Aanjjan Srivastav, Shri Ramesh Talwar, Shri Raman Kumar, Shri Avtar Gill and others.

The Best Production and the 2nd Best Production will be featured at the All India People�s Theatre Festival to be hosted by IPTA Mumbai in Dec 2007-Jan 2008. This year IPTA Mumbai received a total of 30 entries and for the first time in the history of this event, the Elimination Round was held over 5 days - from Mon 10th to Fri 14th Sept 2007 at the Mysore Association, Matunga (E). Out of the total 30 entries, 28 colleges staged their plays, while 2 colleges dropped out. A total of over 700 students have participated in the IPTA drama competition this year.
