Tushar Dalvi, Founder and Artistic Director of Rangaai Theatre Company, who specialises in Immersive Sensory Theatre Performances, is trying out, for the first time in India, on Zoom and WhatsApp, an interactive murder mystery.
According to a note from Dalvi, "As you may already know the pandemic situation has taken a big toll on performance artists across the globe since we can no longer perform live. RTC too had to put a hold on all our shows that we had planned for this year. To cope with these changing times we have been attempting to explore theatre in the virtual space. For the past four months, we have been rigorously working on #GARGIKAND - An Interactive Murder Mystery Play."
The unique immersive virtual experience, performed via Zoom and WhatsApp is a 24-hour durational piece spread across two evenings, which is a blend of escape rooms, role-playing games, and treasure hunts Audiences are not only spectators but also participate as detectives in the play. Dalvi believes #GARGIKAND will be able to retain the intimacy and interactivity of a live performance.
