Rebecca Spurgeon's acclaimed production of MEDEA will be showcased at the Ranga Shankara Theatre Festival 2024. Presented by Jagriti Theatre, this faithful adaptation of the Euripides classic, offers audiences an unfiltered exploration of the play's intensity and emotional depth.

MEDEA's tragic story resonates with contemporary audiences, highlighting the plight of women who face displacement, war, and the desperate struggle to provide for themselves and their children. Jagriti Theatre enhances the emotional impact of the play through a visually striking set design.

Inspired by the raw devastation of war-torn landscapes, the stage is transformed with elements like gauze, netting, wires, and rope, creating a visceral and chaotic atmosphere that underscores the fragility of Medea's world.

The haunting music composed by Ananth Menon is an integral part of the production, adding depth and texture to the emotional landscape. Through its evocative sounds, the music reinforces the intensity and tragedy of Medea's story.
