Padma Shri Shekhar Sen, an acclaimed singer, actor, playwright, lyricist, and music composer, is renowned for his monoact musical plays. He is celebrated for his unique ability to bring historical and spiritual figures to life, captivating audiences through powerful solo performances that transport them to the era of these great personalities.

Masterpieces of Shekhar Sen:

TULSI: A monoact musical play written, acted, and directed by Sen, based on the life of poet-saint Tulsidas.


KABEER: A compelling portrayal of the life and teachings of the great reformist and poet Kabir.


VIVEKANAND: A Hindi monoact musical exploring the journey of the revolutionary Swami Vivekananda.


SAAHAB: Sen's fourth Hindi musical, showcasing his storytelling prowess.


SOORDAS: A musical tribute to the life of the blind poet and devotee, Soordas.

SATGURU KABIR SAHIB: A two-hour play highlighting the philosophical and reformist legacy of Kabir.

Through decades of dedication, Shekhar Sen has achieved remarkable milestones. He is set to perform his 1110th and 1111th shows in Mumbai with TULSI, marking another significant chapter in his illustrious journey.

Inspired by the principles of the Bhagavad Gita, which states, “स्वे स्वे कर्मण्यभिरतः संसिद्धिं लभते नरः” ("Each man devoted to his own duty attains perfection"), Shekhar Sen has dedicated his talent to Indian theatre, enriching it with performances like Vivekanand and Kabir. His work not only entertains but also enlightens, connecting audiences with the timeless values of these revered figures.
