Sheeba Chaddha has been performing on stage and in cinema for the last 20 years, as an integral member of The Company Theatre for the most part. She has performed in theatre festivals in the UK and Canada, and has been invited for workshops including the prestigious CommediaDel Arte theatre, as well as a production-oriented workshop in the Reunion Islands. As a recipient of the coveted Charles Wallace scholarship, she attended a theatre course at the Royal Academy Of Dramatic Arts (RADA), London. She has also worked with The Big Telly theatre company in Northern Ireland , and apprenticed with the renowned Compagnie Phillipe Genty in Paris.
Her theatre credits include C for Clown (Dir: Rajat Kapoor) and The Blue Mug (Dir: Atul Kumar), wherein she stars alongside Konkona Sensharma, Ranvir Shorey & Vinay Pathak. She is famous for her unforgettable performance as Desdemona in Othello In Black & White (Dir: Roysten Abel), and also starred in the film, In Othello, based on the play. She traveled with the play which was followed by the premiere of the film to London's Hammersmith Theatre, as part of their festival. Other credits include Stoppard's Rosencrantz and Guildestern are dead (Dir: Atul Kumar) and Jis Lahore..... directed by Habib Tanvir.
On 18th, 19th June at Prithvi Theatre and on 3rd and 4th July 2010 at the NCPA Mumbai, Sheeba Chadda will appear as Hedda Gabler in Henrik Ibsen's eponymous classic. She will be supported by Tillotama Shome, Shipra Singh, Veera Abadan, Neeraj Kabi, Denzil Smith and Samar Sarila
