Pankaj Kapur, with some of his best performances through the years on stage and in films behind his back, is all set to perform on stage again. He has been trained at the National School of Drama (NSD) and both he and his wife Supriya Pathak, have worked in theatre in the past. Hence they thought of revisiting their passion for theatre with their very own production house called "Theatron.

"Theatron is a movement in performing arts. The idea is to learn from the experienced and blend it with the energy and thoughts of the youth.", says Pankaj Kapur.

Theatron's first production is called DOPEHRI and is set in the streets of Lucknow in the haveli of an old, lonely woman Amma Bi.

Pankaj Kapur brings to us her story and the story of old Lucknow.

DOPEHRI is a novella written by Pankaj Kapur that is rendered on stage, with the help of lights and music. It transports us through Amma Bi's journey from loneliness to self-discovery.

He and Supriya Pathak talk about restarting theatre... "We are looking forward to coming back home (theatre) with a warm story that is close to our heart."

The play has been written, directed & performed by Pankaj Kapur.
