Mumbai University's Academy of Theatre Arts' 12th National Vasant Natyaotsav....

Mumbai University's Academy of Theatre Arts is holding its ‘National Vasant Natyaotsav'. This year the Academy of Theatre Arts has collaborated with the Sangeet Natak AkademiNew Delhi, West Zone Cultural Centre Udaipur and South Central Zone Cultural Centre – Nagpur.

Various theatre groups from all over India, especially from Bihar, Manipur, Madhya Pradesh, Kolkata are participating in the festival.

The Natyaotsav was inaugurated on 8th February 2020 by veteran actress and director Nadira Zahir Babbar. Well known actor Virendra Saxena was also a part of the inauguration function.

Mumbai University's Pro Vice Chancellor Dr. Ravindra Kulkarni presided over the function along with Dr. Ajay Deshmukh, Registrar Mumbai University, and Vice Chancellor Dr. Suhas Pednekar.

The commencement of the Natyotsav was done by the Second Year students of the Master of Theatre Arts. They staged the play APALAK NIDRAHEEN written by Abhiram Bhadkamkar and directed by Prasad Vanarase.

Upcoming plays are:

BAIL ABOLBALA, a play by Lokrangmanch, Satara will be performed on 13th February 2020 at 7 pm.
This play is directed by Rajiv Mulye.

KANKAAL, a play by Khenjonglang Manipur will be performed on 14th February 2020 at 4 pm. This play is written by Sushila Devi and directed by Dr. S. Thaninlema.

The Vasant Natyaostav will conclude with Rangpandhari Pune's NIRUPAN on 14th February 2020 at 7pm This play is written and directed by Ishwar Andhare.

Venue for all plays: Kalina Campus, Mumbai University.

The 12th National Vasant Natyaotsav has been organised by the Academy of Theatre Arts, Mumbai University under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Ganesh Chandanshive.
