Acclaimed actor, writer and director Pankaj Kapur returns to the stage with DREAMZ - SEHAR, a Hindustani play that explores the intriguing space between dreams, imagination and reality. Written and directed by Kapur himself, the production also features him in the lead role alongside celebrated actor Supriya Pathak.

DREAMZ - SEHAR takes audiences into a world where the boundaries between what is real and what is imagined begin to blur. The story follows Professor Saheb, who arrives in the picturesque town of Kasauli hoping to spend a quiet weekend away from his everyday life. His plans, however, take an unexpected turn when he encounters a mysterious stranger searching for something seemingly unknown.

As Professor Saheb attempts to help, he finds himself drawn deeper into an unusual sequence of events. What begins as curiosity gradually turns into a journey filled with uncertainty, mystery and questions. Is he experiencing an elaborate dream, or has he stepped into a reality far stranger than he could have imagined?

Through its layered storytelling, DREAMZ - SEHAR reflects on the nature of dreams and the way imagination can influence our perception of reality. The narrative moves through the nasha of Nisha before confronting audiences with the awakening reality of Sehar.

For theatre practitioners, performers and production houses, the play also offers an opportunity to experience the theatrical craft of two of India's most respected performers. Pankaj Kapur’s command over writing, direction and performance, combined with Supriya Pathak's stage presence, makes this production an important addition to the current theatre calendar.

DREAMZ - SEHAR will have three performances at Rangshila on 28, 29 and 30 August 2026, with all shows beginning at 7:30 PM. Theatre enthusiasts can look forward to an evening of mystery, performance and thought-provoking storytelling.
