Thespians Sarita Joshi, Yazdi Naoshirwan Karanjia Receive The Padma Shri Award This Year...

118 Padma Shri awards have been bestowed. The recipients vary between the fields of Art, in which theatre is included, along with Medicine, Trade & Industry, Social Work, Sports, Public Affairs, Science & Engineering, Journalism and Literature & Education.

Among the thespians who have received the Padma Shri this year in 2020 are, noted Gujarati stage actress Sarita Joshi, known for several plays in her long career and the Surat-based theatre practitioner, Yazdi Karanjia, widely known for his contribution to Parsi theatre.
