MTG editorial

MTG mourns the passing of Ruby Patel, a stalwart of Mumbai's English and Parsi-Gujarati theatre. She is survived by her actor-director husband, Burjor Patel and three children, of whom Shernaz is a well-known theatre and film actress.

Burjor and Ruby Patel acted in innumerable plays together, and established their production company in the seventies. After almost two decades in the Gulf, they returned to Mumbai in 2009, and carried on their theatre work in the city. Her demise is a great loss to the theatre community.
